Cotton covering corresponds to class Y insulation (90 °C) and in view of
its good absorptive capacity, allows excellent combination with impregnating
compounds, resulting in excellent mechanical resistance.The cotton covering
can be applied to bare wires and to enamelled wires as well.Basic application of
cotton covered conductors are for instrument transformers and induction coils.
